Civic Project Awards
Nearly six years to the day after the Wilton Garden Club designed and installed the Horseshoe Pond Garden, located on River Road near the intersection of Wolf Pit Road, the Federated Garden Club of Connecticut bestowed it with their prestigious “Tribute Award for Landscape Design” in recognition of its efforts. The 30-foot-long garden features a wide assortment of perennials, shrubs, roses, and ornamental grasses, as well as a cheerful selection of annuals for continuous color throughout the growing season. All of the plants are noteworthy for their drought-tolerance, low maintenance and rugged growth habit, as the garden gets hit with sand and salt-spray during the winter and receives no supplemental watering during the summer.
